Rob Conery’s post: Virtual, Computed Columns in PostgreSQL 12

Rob Conery is extremely excited about one of the new features in PostgreSQL 12: Generated (or computed) columns. Generated columns are special columns that are always computed from other columns. Thus, generated columns are for columns what a view is for tables. In his article, Rob runs through an example, from high-level down to the weeds, on how to use generated columns.
